ABOUT WOODY

Jacob Bradford Woodruff, best known by colleges as “Woody”, is a Writer, Producer, and Director. He carries a passion for storytelling and cinematic art. With a background in theater, he brings a thought-provoking and creative approach to filmmaking. Over the past couple of years, Woody has worked on countless projects. Highlights of his blossoming career are the award-winning drama short film “Left Unsaid” (2024), the suspenseful thriller “Directions” (2024), and his feature film “Murders of Whitney Manor” (TBD). He is always striving to find the right balance between art and practicality.

Woody enjoys watching movies in his free time and is always up for a marathon, drinking game, or detailed analysis/ group discussion. He always has more in the works, so keep your eyes ready and your ears to the ground.

Education

2017-2021

St. Charles Prep

While in high school Woody dedicated himself to the Theater program. There he met his future wife and many of the people that would later appear in his films. Upon graduation Woody received honors for his artistic merit. 

2021

Columbia College Chicago

After high school Woody moved to Chicago, Illinois to learn film in a bigger city. He learned much about production, but found his art to be to experimental. He starved broke from the cities expense, he soon returned home to Columbus, Ohio. 

2023-2024

Ohio Media School Columbus

After the experience of producing his first feature film Woody decided to go back to school. This time however not a college, but more of a trade school. Here he studied under award winners all around. Most specifically he was mentored by TJ Cooley. He learned the struggles of film while also winning awards and making friends that would go on to work on countless films with him.
